Orlando’s Sustainability Taskforce
ecoPreserve’s President, Alexa Stone, was appointed by Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer to serve on the new City’s Sustainability Taskforce.
Dyer made the announcement at the State of Downtown Address at the new LEED Gold Certified Amway Center. The Taskforce, Chaired by former Orange County Mayor Richard Crotty, will act in an advisory role for policy development, green job creation and commercial engagement with a goal of making Orlando a national leader in environmental sustainability. The task force builds on the success of the launching of the City’s Green Works Initiative in 2007 and hopes to redefine and identify solutions for the future.
Dyer was joined at his State of the Downtown address by Nancy Sutley, chair of the White House Council on Environmental Quality, who praised Orlando’s efforts.
